Xpanders

There are 4 different models of the Xpander Elevators

Anterior Set: Straight model, Curved model

Straight model A: Used primarily in the anterior six teeth - centrals, laterals, and canines
Curved model B: Best model for use on bicuspids. The 15 degree bend allows the handle to be positioned slighly further away from the face, thereby allowing more freedom of movement of the operator's hand. There is less impingement of the operator's hand onto the patient's face. The curved model also allows better access to cross-arch surfaces of teeth (e.g. lingual of # 20)
Posterior Set: "In" Model, "out" model

"In" model C: One of a pair of posterior models and is best used on front surfaces facing toward the operator on sectioned molars. (e.g. mesio-buccal corner of # 30 or mesio-lingual corner of #19
"Out" model D: One of a pair of postierior models and is best used on rear surfaces facing away from the operator on sectioned molars. (e.g. mesio or disto - lingual corner of # 30 or mesio-buccal corner of #19
