It is not a general-purpose extraction forcep; it is a purpose-built instrument for one of the most clinically challenging situations in dental extractions.
For best results, use The Flame™ Diamond Bur to create a narrow notch or trough around the retained root fragment. This gives the Stieglitz beaks a defined point of engagement. Once the purchase point is established, slide the thin serrated beaks into the trough, achieve a firm grip on the root fragment, and deliver with controlled rotational or luxating force. The serrated tips prevent slippage throughout the removal process.
