Make a slot 2/3 through the crown using the Metal Buster bur (leaving the lingual in tact). Next slide the curved side of Max Crown Spreader™ into the buccal and rock up and down "flaring" open the crown. Watch this video for more!
Max Crown Spreader™ can be used on all permanent crowns, including metal, PFM, and zirconia crowns. Pair with our Metal Buster™ or Zirconia Buster™ for best results.
Traditional crown removing instruments have a more simple design. With the multi directional tip, Max Crown Spreader™ allows you to approach the crown from any angle. The wedge side perfectly slides into the made slot. Other angles allow you to approach the crown from the top or the side. Yes. While the extra-long handle is especially useful for accessing posterior teeth, Max Crown Spreader™ works on crowns throughout the entire arch — anterior and posterior, maxillary and mandibular. The multi-directional tip allows flexible approach angles regardless of crown location.

The Max Crown Spreader is one of those rare instruments that actually lives up to the hype. It makes a tedious procedure so much easier. My team and I feel more efficient, and patients notice the difference too.
I just did 2 lower mesially impacted 3rd molars and it was surprisingly easy and efficient. The flame diamond helped create a purchase point and before I knew it, the teeth were ready for removal. The conical/tapered root anatomy helped too.
I also did a long rooted #15 and finished in time to do a quadrant of SRP. these were my first 2 patients I used the expanders on and Im already a very satisfied customer.
I’ve had one for 6 years and won’t go back! I came to the website to refer a friend and thought I should leave a review. I absolutely hate using hemostats on temps.
