Most temporary crowns can be removed in just 2–3 seconds once properly engaged. Unlike hemostats or rubber-tipped instruments that slip or require repeated attempts, TempOff® locks onto the temporary immediately, reducing chair time and improving efficiency for both doctor and assistant.
Rubber tipped instruments must engage the temporary at the margin– near the gum line. This is the weakest, thinnest part of the temporary and the most sensitive area of the tooth. With TempOff®, the higher incisal positioning allows for greater efficiency and less force onto the tooth. Force is transferred to the temporary, not the tooth. TempOff® is a great Rubber tipped instrument alternative.
Hemostats often slip or require engagement near the margin of the temporary, which can be uncomfortable for patients and inefficient for clinicians. TempOff® uses a stable 4-point contact design that grips the temporary securely at a higher incisal position, allowing more controlled and predictable removal. TempOff® is a great Hemostat alternative.
Nope! Provisionals can still be used after removal. TempOff® will only leave a small indentation on the temporary.
Nope! In most cases, anesthesia is not necessary. Because the force is directed to the temporary crown rather than the tooth, patients typically experience minimal to no discomfort during removal.
Types of Temporary removal
Yes! TempOff® is designed to lock onto a wide range of temporary crown materials and shapes, including acrylics and bis-acryl provisionals commonly used in restorative dentistry. (It works on even the toughest temporary cement too!)
Yes! TempOff® works on temporary bridges as well as single-unit temporary crowns. The 4-point contact tip locks onto the pontic or any retainer unit of the bridge, giving you the same non-slip grip you'd get on a single crown. For longer-span bridges, simply work from one end to the other, alternating sides to gradually loosen the cement seal before removal.

While it's not necessary, you may chose to sharpen it over the years if you prefer. You can find sharpening instructions here
Yes. TempOff® is made from surgical-grade stainless steel and is fully autoclave-safe. It can withstand repeated sterilization cycles without affecting the instrument's performance or tip integrity. Simply follow your standard in-office sterilization protocol.

The Max Crown Spreader is one of those rare instruments that actually lives up to the hype. It makes a tedious procedure so much easier. My team and I feel more efficient, and patients notice the difference too.
I just did 2 lower mesially impacted 3rd molars and it was surprisingly easy and efficient. The flame diamond helped create a purchase point and before I knew it, the teeth were ready for removal. The conical/tapered root anatomy helped too.
I also did a long rooted #15 and finished in time to do a quadrant of SRP. these were my first 2 patients I used the expanders on and Im already a very satisfied customer.
